F is for Ford which lends its name to Fordism, defined by Victoria de Grazie in ‘Irresistible Empire: America’s Advance Through 20th Century Europe’ as: ‘the eponymous manufacturing system designed to spew out standardized, low-cost goods and afford its workers decent enough wages to buy them’.


The work is dedicated to American efficiency, which has been the motor for an increase in opportunity worldwide, though it is certainly not without its opponents.
