The apple eaten by our character, however, does not seem to have enhanced his health, magritt green warand his appearance gives little reassurance. This is Yorick, the jester at the court of Hamlet’s father, who provided the young prince with entertainment, and who died during his acting career. Yorick lives on in Hamlet’s memory, instilling in him a morbid preoccupation with death.
