Wind and HAir
2007
mixed technique 150x242x17 cm
Dedicated the Four (or Five) Elements, Alessandro Botticelli and Salvador Dalì
We see Zephyr, the god of the gentle west wind with a handle protruding from his belly button, that one can ‘wind’ into action.
The focal point of the image is Venus, whose famous form (in this appropriation of Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus’) is missing, her long red hair set afire.
Air is one of the four elements to which this picture is dedicated. In China there is a fifth: the ether.
